Care for the water
we share.

A few thoughtful habits can make water conservation part of your family’s pool routine.

Small habits. Thoughtful care.

Four places to begin.

  1. Reduce evaporation

    Choose a cover with care.

A properly used pool cover can reduce evaporation. Ask about a cover suited to your pool and how to use it safely. Solar blankets and rings are not safety covers.

  2. Notice changes

    Speak up about possible leaks.

Unusual water loss, persistent wet spots or an unexpected increase in refilling deserve attention. Share what you notice with your pool professional; evaporation and leaks need different responses.

  3. Keep water in the pool

Make splash-out part of the conversation.

Encourage games that keep water in the pool. Ask about the correct operating water level instead of filling to the brim.

  4. Care for the water you have

    Ask before draining.

Discuss water testing and treatment options before deciding to drain and refill. Keep up with debris removal and appropriate filter care; cleaning needs depend on your equipment.

A family conversation

Notice together. Plan with an adult.

Invite children to share what they notice and choose a water-wise habit to practice. Leave decisions about covers, equipment, chemicals and draining to adults working with their pool professional.
