Start with the correct name
At Haolys, we use Heater for a gas-fired appliance and Heat Pump for an electric appliance that draws heat from the air. Knowing which one you have makes a service conversation more useful.
| At a glance | Gas heater | Heat pump |
|---|---|---|
| Energy source | Natural gas or propane | Electricity |
| How it warms the water | Burns fuel and transfers that heat to circulating water. | Uses a compressor and refrigerant cycle to move heat from the air into the water. |
Useful information for your request
If the model label is safely visible without opening a cabinet, include its information in your request. An existing manual or invoice can also identify the equipment. It is fine to say that you are unsure.
Describe what you notice and when it happens. For example, report the exact displayed message rather than translating it into a diagnosis. Knowing the model does not by itself establish why a unit is not working.
Keep the first conversation specific
For a replacement or installation, describe how you want to use the pool: occasional swims, a longer swimming season, or heating a connected system. Include what equipment is there now and what you would like to change. Appliance selection and sizing depend on the property and intended use.
This is an identification guide, not a repair procedure. Use the manufacturer’s documentation for your exact model and discuss diagnosis or installation with a qualified service professional.
